On the road to Jerusalem, someone comes forward and lays down his commitment to Jesus. Perhaps he imagined that, with such dynamism and insight, that Jesus was destined for greatness, and be sought after by the royalty, the rich, the wise and the powerful of the world. Oh the places “they” can go, he might have thought. But if the gentleman knew, however, exactly where Jesus was going (humiliation and death), would he still commit? To be fearless in your faith is to follow Jesus even though you do not know the destination. Even when the route there does not look glamorous or exciting. Even when it may seems dangerous. You may get anxious, but you have one advantage: Jesus is going in the same direction with you…
Jesus, where you lead me, I will follow
where you lead me I will follow
where you lead me I will follow
- I’ll go with you, with you all the way, AMEN
