y is the day set aside in this country where we give tribute to our veteran=
s, and this morning my thoughts go to my father. Here he is, the bigg=
er one on the left. (I’m the handsome one in the snow suit). His firs=
t career was in the military, where he eventually retired as a Major in the=
Army. He was an infantry man – so=
meone who “came up the rough side” in the army rankings. The war he f=
ought was in Vietnam. He told my brothers and I the story of when he first =
arrived in the field. As he was walking from the helicopter, people w=
ere yelling at him, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying. M=
y father kept hearing a high-pitched sound going past his ears. He gu=
essed it was bugs, but was enemy fire – and he was being targeted. Th=
ank God, he figured out what was happening, and got through that day.  =
;He always said the “man upstairs” looked out for him. I know its tr=
ue – for we prayed for him everyday. Please take a moment to pray for=
all our women and men in uniform today. They protect your rights and=
liberties. Pray that the Lord will keep them safe and prepared…
Lord, please wa=
tch over all those young men and women who serve us both here and abroad. &=
nbsp;Bless them and keep them safe, in Jesus name, AMEN
