I heard this joke from a Christian comedian:  ”Most of us spe=
nd the first six days of each week sowing wild oats, then we go to church o=
n Sunday and pray for a crop failure”.  May not be true for everyone, =
but some of us do hope that our daily transgressions don’t grow into someth=
ing that makes God angry.  The way to get through this scenario? =
Don’t fake piety (v. 16) – be honest with God.  A ‘contrite’ spirit m=
eans allowing God to see your brokenness, so that you can be healed and mad=
e whole.  It takes more effort to do that for some of us, but try it t=
oday.  The Lord stands ready to receive your sacrifice of brokenness..=
.

O God I stand here today with my life in my hands.  I see=
the problems and issues both before me and within me.  I bring them t=
o Your altar and lay them at your feet.  Receive my sacrifice of broke=
nness today.  Mold, remold and shape me after Your will, and I will be=
blessed, in Jesus name,   AMEN
 =

God bless,
