ife is not to be happy. The end of life is not to achieve pleasure and avoi=

I look at this picture, and I think, who is this old gu=
y?!? :-)
There was a time in my life when I didn’t =
think I would live to see 40, but today I turn 50 years old. For some=
, mid-life is a scary prospect, and I understand that feeling. I’ve n=
oticed that I don’t move as fast as I used to, I don’t jump out of bed like=
I did in my 20s because of the aches and pains, my hair is starting to tur=
n white, etc. But actually, I’ve been looking forward to this next ph=
ase of my life. Being with Christ has taught me something in all thes=
e years – that trusting Him opens up my life. I’ve learned to be grat=
eful, more appreciative of little things, considerably less worried and anx=
ious, more loving, giving and caring, and it has made the difference.  =
;It really is, for me, about savoring every moment of my life. I stil=
l have my good days and bad days, but “all my days haven’t come in yet”, so=
who can tell what a day brings? The one constant is that God promise=
d to walk with you, always. He’s taken care of me for 50 years. God w=
ill surely take care of you today…
O Lord thank you for my life. Please bless th=
e lives of everyone who reads this today, and give them peace in their hear=
ts, in Jesus name, AMEN
