Jesus, full=
of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wil=
derness, 2 where for forty days he was tempted b=
y the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he wa=
s hungry.

Happy 2012 everyone!  I hope you had a restful vacation =
(I caught up on my sleep!).  Its a brand new year – and I thought a gr=
eat reflection would be our savior’s preparation for mission.  It happ=
ened over 40 days, when, after his baptism, Jesus continued in the wilderne=
ss fasting, and getting ready for the mission of God.  And for us, rat=
her than living this year randomly, what are we doing to prepare for the mi=
ssion ahead?  Are you equipped to handle the changes that may be comin=
g?  Follow Jesus, and prepare yourself.  Jesus fasted, and prayed=
– reflecting on his relationship with the Father, being guided by the Spir=
it.  Did you notice that, even in the wilderness, Jesus wasn’t alone?&=
nbsp; Think about making a commitment to draw closer to God this Lenten sea=
son…

 Lord, I ask =
that you prepare us for the journey ahead.  Give us insight as to the =
spiritual path we must take today, as we reflect on your example in the wil=
derness.  Bless us to step up to a wilderness preparation for our live=
s, in Jesus name,   AMEN
