When its 11 degrees outside (as it is around my neighborhood =
this morning), you say a little prayer before you start your car! I c=
an thankfully say mine did (praise God!), but it also made me think about w=
hat it takes to start a car in cold weather. Suffice it to say, its more th=
an gas. As you begin to take on 2012, our text reminds us that you ne=
ed more than your daily needs to make it this year. Jesus was challenged by=
the devil to find his own way to supply his needs, and our Savior, in his =
response, reminded evil that God (the Father) is his supplier and sustainer=
. Keep up your personal devotions and prayer life, for they always re=
mind you who really “butters your bread”…
Lord, we love you today, and ask that you touch us=
as we go about our daily tasks. Remind us that this touch comes from=
the one who takes care of us always. Please reduce any anxieties we =
have over what is to come, and strengthen our resolve to walk in your ways,=
in Jesus name, AMEN
