Our text shows Satan distracting Jesus by telling him t=
hat his daily needs will be provided through the “power” he would give Jesu=
s. All the Master has to do is acknowledge who gave him power. =
Which he did (v. 8), praise the Lord! There is no choice of who=
provides in this world. You also cannot claim that your daily needs =
were provided by yourself alone. You either acknowledge that they com=
e from the Lord, or concede, through self-centeredness, that it comes from =
the world. Preparing for 2012 reminds us that all we have, and all th=
at we are, is given to us by God. Think, as you prepare this new year=
, about what God has in store for your life…
O God, as I prepare today I ask that you remove=
any distractions that get between us. Help me to focus my attention beyond=
my daily needs to the God of my salvation. In Jesus name, &nbs=
p; AMEN…
