10 Then =
he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11=
But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Ab=
raham! Abraham!”

   ”Here I=
am,” he replied.

12 =
“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I =
know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, you=
r only son.”

13 =
Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed =
it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So=
Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is sai=
d, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”

Saints in the Bush

When Abraham was about to kill his only son, Isaac=
, God stopped him, and provided a ram – a substitute offering instead of hi=
s son (hence the phrase having a “ram in the bush”,  or , God providin=
g something to resolve a problem before disaster arises).   What Abrah=
am did was a test of faith provided by God.  And the Lord, because he =
is sovereign, can test whoever he wants, as hard as he wants, hence the ord=
er to sacrifice Isaac.  Sometimes we feel tested by God through life’s=
circumstances, and that very well may be.  My encouragement is to rem=
ind you patriarchs like Abraham, Joseph, Esther, David and Solomon were tes=
ted, in ways you may never see in your lifetime.  But they survived an=
d even thrived.  Keep holding on:  Saints have been where you are=
now, and they got through it…

Dear Lord, we know that faith does the impossible because it =
brings You to undertake for us, and nothing is impossible with You. How gre=
at is the power of faith!  If doubt be banished from the heart, and un=
belief made stranger there, then all tests have a time limit in you.  =
We know that only You can move mountains, but faith and prayer move You. Mo=
ve our mountains in Jesus name,  AMEN

God bless,
