cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in re=
membrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat=

act of reflection that brings the people of God together “in remembrance” o=
f Jesus. It is an act of obedience that celebrates mutual love and su=
pport of one another. As you can see above, communion was practiced f=
rom the very beginnings of the church. Your practice of fasting and p=
raying is also, in a sense, an act of communion: a time of refle=
cting on what Jesus has done on your soul’s behalf, and what Jesus continue=
s to do in your life. Take some time today and reflect on these thing=
s. Think about the price Jesus paid for you on Calvary. Reflect=
on what the Lord did for you in 2011, and what you seek from him in 2012..=
. O God, we thank you for=
this prayer of reflection, repentance and remembrance. We realize th=
at we can reflect on your goodness and mercy, both in the past, and in our =
present day. We know that in communion, we eat the bread of unity and=
drink the wine of forgiveness. And we remember your sacrifice. =
Bless our future in You, in Jesus name, Amen
