7 Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was give=
n a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.&=

ficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore=
I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s pow=

sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, i=

assage was about enduring the ills and the sufferings of this world, and th=
e grace of God. But the longer I live, the longer I realize these ver=
ses from Paul are about how a “thorn in the flesh” can be a matter of “spir=
itual perspective”. We never know whether Paul’s thorn was an interpe=
rsonal issue, or a physical malady, or a painful memory. But we know =
that Paul heard the Lord’s declaration: “my grace is sufficient”, and this =
fact caused Paul to see his thorn differently (v. 10). In some cases =
God may not eliminate your “thorn” as well, but the Lord can get you to loo=
k at your thorn differently. Paul said, “I delight” in the things tha=
