1 The LO=
RD is my light and my salvation-
whom shall I =
fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life-
&n=
bsp; of whom shall I be afraid?
2&=
nbsp; When the wicked advance against me
to dev=
our me,
it is my enemies and my foes
 =
; who will stumble and fall.
3 Though=
an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;&n=
bsp;
though war break out against me,
eve=
n then I will be confident.
4 One thing I ask from the LORD,
this only =
do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
=
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty=
of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 27:1-4

t include the 27th! And it is always its first verses that resonate i=
n my spirit. My earliest reading of it came when I had some enemies t=
rying to “eat of my flesh” as the KJV would say. The fact that the Lo=
rd causes your enemies to stumble and fall is a wonderful encouragement.&nb=
sp; But in time I’ve come to greatly appreciate verses 1 and 4. God w=
ants us to be fearless in our faith not because of what what he can do to o=
ur enemies, but because the Lord is our light and our stronghold. And=
David’s desire, above all else, is to be in relationship with God, which s=
hould always be our number 1 desire as well. Be fearless in your fait=
h today – the Lord is your Light and Salvation…
Teach me to pray in relationship with You, dear Lord, and to speak to You =
as I would speak to a close friend. Give me the boldness to declare m=
y faithfulness to You in all my ways. Bless my family and friends, an=
d bless me, in Jesus name, AMEN
