15 So th=
ey came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive ou=
t those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the=
money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple.&=

17 Then He taught, saying to them, ”Is it n=
ot written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’?&n=
bsp;But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ “

18 =
And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destro=
y Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His t=
eaching.

Fearless Cleansing

Jesus wasted no time when he arr=
ived in Jerusalem challenging the authority of those in charge of the templ=
e.  We usually concentrate on the moneychangers and the forced exit pr=
ovided by Jesus, but there is something else to consider.  The temple =
had an outer court (where the sacrificial animals were sold), and an inner =
court (where they were sacrificed).  Jesus was trying to make the oute=
r court reflect the reverence of the inner court. Does your outer life refl=
ect your inner faith?  In what ways does your everyday living display =
your belief in Jesus?    Does Jesus need to “clean out” your oute=
r life and get it in shape??

O Lord, I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Pl=
ease help me to ‘walk my talk’, and help my outer life be reflective of my =
inner belief in you.  In Jesus name,   AMEN

God bless,
