For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected =
;if it is received with thanksgiving, 5&=
nbsp;because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
6&=
nbsp;If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you wi=
ll be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith=
and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ =
tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8=
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has va=
lue for all things, holding promise for both the present life and=
the life to come.

Growing in Christ doesn’t=
happen spontaneously; it happens through the discipline of learning. =
Spiritual maturity shouldn’t happen randomly as well. You have to m=
ake an conscious, consistent effort to grow in God’s grace. Paul teac=
hes his disciple TImothy to educate fellow believers against false teaching=
s, especially prohibitions against certain foods. “For everything God=
created is good”, Paul said. Peter experienced the same lesson himse=
lf (Acts 10). Remember, discipling youself in spiritual matters is no=
t a bad thing. Reading and understanding your bible, a consistent pra=
yer and worship life, and serving are ways God provides in order to “train =
yourself to be godly”.
u kept me safe from all evil and danger last night. Save me, I pray, =
today as well, from every evil and sin, so that all I do and the way that I=
live will please you. I put myself in your care, body and soul and all tha=
t I have. in Jesus name, AMEN.
