Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of i=
t. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward =
what is ahead, 14 I press on t=
oward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heave=
nward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of thing=
s. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make =
clear to you. 16 Only let us live u=
p to what we have already attained.

The last time I jogged, I sprint=
ed (my equivalent of sprint that is!) the last 100 meters. Or so I th=
ought. When I finished, I realized I had one more lap to go to comple=
te my last mile. So I started that lap. Halfway through my body=
said “I’m done, please stop!”. But my mind said “Finish what you sta=
rted”. I completed that lap (now how long it took me, that’s another =
matter). One sure sign of=
spiritual maturity is the way our attitude shores up our faith. A ma=
turing Christian has confidence that God has given them all they need to co=
mplete the race. We need the mindset to “press through” Ask God=
today to give you the insight to “live up to what we have already attained=
” in Jesus… &nbs=

O God, bless me to run the race with patie=
nce today. I recognize that the race is not given to the swift or the=
battle to the strong. Help me to believe in my spiritual endurance, =
In Jesus name, AMEN.
