This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is =
light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6=
If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the =
darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light=
, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, pur=
ifies us from all sin.
8&=
nbsp;If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth=
is not in us. 9 If we confess our =
sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify =
us from all unrighteousness. 10 If =
we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his=
word is not in us.

Confession helps us to gr=
ow spiritually. It doesn’t stop when you accept Christ as your Savior=
. As children of God, we live with two natures, one that is of God, a=
nd one that is natural. We can wrestle between the two (cf. Romans 7:=
7-24), and sometimes lose out. But growth comes through confession – =
admitting and taking responsibility for our sinful actions. The blood=
of Jesus purifies us from unrighteousness, and we start afresh when we let=
go and Let God renew our lives. Remember, denial has no place in our lives=
(v.10), confession always does…
God I ask=
that you forgive me as I confess my sinful ways to you. Help me to l=
ay everything at your feet daily and let them stay at your feet. Bles=
s me to walk surrendered to your Will, in Jesus name, AMEN.
