Fearless Unity

In today’s Boston Globe, t=
here’s an article about a teen girl, age 16, who was shot to death in East =
Cambridge, MA.  I know this event has created an atmosphere of fear fo=
r every resident regardless of age.  But just as violence tears a neig=
hborhood, our silent reaction to it also contributes.  Ephesians 4:3 i=
s a good verse to meditate on today.  Paul was speaking about church d=
ivisions, but I think it can be expanded to include the streets of our city=
.  Please pray for the victim’s family, but also “Make every effort”. =
 Ask yourself, how can your actions contribute to peace?  Where c=
an God use you to bring unity in a divided city?   &n=

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also =
for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them ma=
y be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be i=
n us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them=
the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them =
and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know =
that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me”.  AMEN=
