Ever did something bad wh=
en you’re young, and your sibling would say, “Ooooo, I’m telling Mom!” =
; You knew you were going to “get it”. But did you ever experience a =
time where you didn’t “get it” – your mother or father “sparing the rod” – =
although you deserved “it”? Verses 15-17 reminds me of =
that moment. Zephaniah, the great great grandson of Hezekiah, became =
prophet in Judah during the reign of Josiah. Although God had already=
destroyed the Northern Kingdom, and was poised to eliminate the southern k=
ingdom of Judah, King Josiah led the people in religious reforms. So =
the punishing hand of God was delayed because of the repentant heart of the=
people. Although we may deserve otherwise, Its never too late to se=
ek God’s grace and mercy.
I thank You for grace and mercy today. I bless Your name for being al=
ive, and for your provision in my life. I pray that You help me to se=
e Your hand in my daily walk, and help me to appreciate Your presence, in J=
esus name, AMEN.
