Did you go to church yeste=
rday? Were you there for the right reason, or did you go to look, be =
seen, or because thats what you always do on Sunday mornings?? For Is=
rael, worship had become rote, and God is angry with them because of it.&nb=
sp; I think insincere worship is something that angers God because it keeps=
up appearances while hiding a lie. Becoming sincere is an inwar=
d journey – you put your heart in it, turning the focus of your life =
off of yourself and onto God and others (v. 17). It never hurts=
to occasionally reflect on why you worship God in the first place. I=
‘ve personally found those reflections to refresh and renew my relationship=
with God!
Lord, I rejoice in a new wo=
rk week. In this time of change and transition, I celebrate you as th=
e unchanging, steady hand in my life. As I pray this day, bless our r=
easoning together, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN. =
