I heard someone say, “Most=
of us spend the first six days of each week sowing wild oats, then we go t=
o church on Sunday and pray for a crop failure” May not be true for e=
veryone, but some of us do hope that our daily transgressions don’t grow in=
to something that makes God angry. The way to get through this scenar=
io? Don’t fake piety (v. 16) – be honest with God. A ‘contrite’=
spirit means allowing God to see your brokenness, so that you can be heale=
d and made whole. It takes more effort to do that for some of us, but=
try it today. The Lord stands ready to receive your sacrifice of bro=
kenness…
O =
God I stand here today with my life in my hands. I see the problems a=
nd issues both before me and within me. I bring them to Your altar an=
d lay them at your feet. Receive my sacrifice of brokenness today.&nb=

sus name, AMEN
