People are not born bitter and resentful. =
; It comes with the experiences of life – what we react to, what we encount=
er and how it leaves us, what is said about us, and what we think about our=
selves. Hebrews 12 speaks of “bitter roots”. It can consist of =
traumatic experiences of unresolved pain, distress, disappointment, guilt, =
etc. that starts the seed of bitterness growing. The memory of these things=
can suppress the joys of life. So, how do you stop the bit=
ter root from growing? “Make every effort to live in peace”, and star=
t within yourself. Dig up under the root causes of your bitter feelin=
gs and seek God for transformation of your mind (Rom. 12:2). Remove t=
he roots of resentment out of the fertile ground of your imagination and re=
sist bitter thoughts. Use forgiveness as a weedkiller. It doesn=
‘t hurt to talk to your pastor or spiritual guide during this process. &nbs=
