Remembering Pastor Willie DuBose

New Hope Baptist Church in Boston is one of my favorite places =
to preach. The members there are active and lively, the music is good, and =
their pastor was one of my favorite people.  A butcher who became a pa=
stor, Willie DuBose had a heart of gold and a huge love for God.  (and=
a wife who could S-A-A-N-G!).  And our text was one I remember him sa=
ying often, and one I offer to the members in mourning, who lost their unde=
rshepherd yesterday. God’s love is forever.  We may go through struggl=
es, even ones that are of our own making, but God is still faithful, and hi=
s love for you remains.  You can and will get through this time in you=
r life.  This verse tells me that God will eventually wipe all tears f=
rom your eyes…

O God, I thank you f=
or this day, and for blessing me with the strength to endure.  I ask t=
hat you look upon me with favor, and grant me inner peace as I face this da=
y.  I have faith that the sun is beyond the clouds.  In Jesus nam=
e, AMEN.

God bless,
